Born NY State 1827. Undertook survey Manitowoc harbor 1852. Railroad promoter 1855. Favored the Latimer railroad contract 1859. Was in early militia. After participating in war meeting chosen April 5th as captain Manitowoc Guards. On arrival Camp Randall became Company A 5th WI July 13, 1861. Flag given by ladies prior thereto in North Side park to which he feelingly responded. Battle Lees Mills VA Captain Clark transferred later to staff of General Rosecrans. Democrat before the war. Senator in state 1856 and defeated in 1858 by Aldrich. Member Gymnastic Assoc 1854. Wounded and home on furlough 1863. Temple Clark married in 1858. Admitted to Bar. Brother of famous politician Sat. Clark. After war took a government clerkship in Washington and died there.
