Born in Oneida County New York 02/25/1822
Came to WI in 1847 settling in Green Lake County first but removing to Calumet in 1848 buying a farm in town of Chilton which he held till 1873. Elected to several town offices. Bought a farm in Rantoul Town he moved to Hilbert in 1872 being one of the first settlers in the place. He owns 620 acres in Oconto County and valuable property in the village. He is proprietor of the Junction House. In 1853 married Miss Simmons of Oakfield they have ten children Ellen Angy Lawson Clinton Ida Alice Orville Rhoda Addie and Henry. He has held some school offices since coming to Hilbert.
